Instead of one assistant doing everything, you can create several agents within one chatbot, each with its own focus. The chatbot routes a visitor to the agent that fits their question.

Where to find it

1

Open your chatbot

From Chatbots, click the chatbot you want to work on.
2

Open AI agent

In the left sidebar, under Main menu, click AI agent.
3

Add an agent

Create an extra agent and state what it is responsible for.
Routing only starts working once you have two or more active agents.

Settings per agent

Each agent has its own:
  • Instructions & tone — how it should behave and sound.
  • Topic — what it is responsible for; routing is based on this.
  • Model level — how capable, and so how many credits an answer costs.
  • Creativity — more factual and consistent, or freer.

How routing works

A visitor’s question is routed to the most suitable agent. That agent then answers the question itself, so you always know which agent was speaking.
Keep the number of agents small and their roles clearly different. Two or three well-defined agents work better than many overlapping ones.
Repeat your most important behaviour rules in every agent. A visitor asks their question however they like and lands on one agent or another; only rules that appear everywhere always apply.
